UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — As a result of militant attacks in eastern Libya, loyal to the renegade Libyan general Khalifa Haftar, 21 civilians were killed in 41 days and 31 others were injured.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Health of the Government of National Reconciliation (GNA), which enjoys United Nations (UN) recognition, despite calls from the foreign ministers of Turkey and Russia, Haftar militias have repeatedly violated the ceasefire.
Missile attacks on civilian settlements in the southern parts of Tripoli and other cities between January 9 and February 20 have killed 21 civilians.
Among the dead were women, children and the elderly, and 31 civilians were injured.
Although the parties in Libya on January 12th accepted Turkey and Russia’s ceasefire offer, Haftar militias continue to violate the ceasefire.
