UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah disclosed information on recent missile attacks on IDF positions in the occupied Syrian Golan.
In a memorial ceremony organized by the party on the anniversary of the death of one of his leaders, Nasrallah confirmed the firing of 55 rockets, some of them large, on Israeli positions in the occupied Golan.
“The attack on Israeli positions in the Golan Heights, including the shooting down of the Israeli fighter earlier, is a very important development,” said the Hezbollah chief.
He added: “We are in front of a new phase in Syria and what happened broke the prestige of Israel .. And the threat of cutting off the hand that extends to the Golan is over .. And Syria and its allies will not allow Syria to remain open.”
Nasrallah stressed that the rockets that targeted the Israeli positions, “proved that the home front of the enemy is not ready for war, and this is what called for the acceleration of calm,” noting that Israel “could not prevent the arrival of the largest number of rockets to their positions in the Golan.”
He said that the missile attack comes as one of the “forms of response to the continuous aggression on Syria and on who in Syria, whether the Syrian army or the Iranian presence or any of the allies.”
On the Palestinian issue, Nasrallah referred to events in the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian territories in general and Jerusalem in particular. He said that “the deal of the century with (US President Donald) Trump means no holiness and no return of refugees and that the Palestinian state is Gaza in return for a comprehensive peace.”
“The tests say that the hopes are open to us and what will disrupt the deal of the century is to reject any Palestinian who presents himself as representing the people signing” (on the deal), he said, adding that “the Palestinians are not required today to wage a war.
