Hypersonic Zircon first launched from a ship

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — In the Barents Sea, the latest Zircon hypersonic missiles were tested. It was first launched from the Admiral Gorshkov warship. It is clarified that the new missile flew about 500 kilometers and hit a ground target at one of the ranges of the Northern Urals, reports TASS with reference to own sources.

The agency’s interlocutors also specified that the testing of the Zircon hypersonic rocket will continue. After which it will start to launch from the side of the submarine.

Zircon hypersonic missiles are capable of flying at speeds of up to 9 Machs at a distance of up to 1,000 kilometers. They are designed to destroy both sea and land targets.
