Idlib introduces new ceasefire on August 31

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — A new ceasefire is being introduced in Syrian Idlib on August 31, the Center for Reconciliation of the warring parties said.

“In order to stabilize the situation, the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties has reached an agreement to unilaterally cease firing in the Idlib de-escalation zone from 06:00 a.m. on August 31, 2019,” the statement said.

The Russian Center for Reconciliation also called on commanders of armed groups to abandon provocations and join the peace process in the areas under their control.
