UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — The Mexican state attorney general, Michoacan, announced on Thursday a special operation during which a criminal cell was uncovered and a secret burial was discovered with remains and parts of 24 bodies.
“The approximate date of death of most victims aged 20-40 years, including five women, is from four to six months ago. Possible causes of death are neck injuries with sharp-cutting objects, in some cases decapitation,” says a communiqué on the prosecutor’s website.
According to the statement, the prosecutor’s office has the necessary evidence to hold those responsible for these crimes accountable.
According to statistics from the Mexican government, since 2006, when the authorities began an active fight against drug crime, by 2019 more than 3 thousand secret burials and more than 4 thousand human bodies were found, more than 60 thousand people went missing.
