IRAN (OBSERVATORY) – The Iranian court on Sunday sentenced 16 women to imprisonment for participation in the activities of the Islamic State terrorist group, IRNA reports referring to Tehran’s Prosecutor General Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi.
“Women, members of the IS, were sentenced to different terms of imprisonment,” Dolatabadi said. He added that women were also ordered to pay money received from IS.
According to him, earlier these women went to Syria to join the terrorist group. There they passed special training trainings and took part in some terrorist operations. After returning to Iran, women were arrested.
