UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — India will buy nearly $ 3 billion worth of weapons from the United States, including helicopters, US President Donald Trump said at a joint press conference with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Donald Trump is in India on an official visit.

US and India expand defense cooperation, Trump stressed. Thus, India will purchase AH-64 Apache attack helicopters and MH-60 multi-role helicopters, reports RT.

US and Indian military continue joint training, Trump said.

In turn, Modi noted that the United States and India decided to bring relations to the level of a “comprehensive global partnership,” and the parties agreed to begin negotiations on a “major” trade deal.

Trump was welcomed in India on a grand scale, and not one leader of another country has been awarded such honors and respect.
