CHINA (OBSERVATORY) – The index of business activity (PMI) in the industrial sector of China’s economy slightly accelerated in April compared to March and amounted to 51.1 points, according to the independent research published on Wednesday by the business publication Caixin.
Industrial PMI in April, according to the edition, accelerated by 0.1 points, having stopped at 51.1 points.
Caixin data is based on a survey of more than 500 plants across the country and is closely monitored by investors, since this indicator is one of the first indicators of the state of the Chinese economy. The value above 50 points indicates an increase in activity, lower – about its decline.
On April 30, the State Statistical Bureau published an official figure. According to the authorities, PMI in the industrial sector of China’s economy slightly slowed to 51.4 points in April, being slightly better than the experts’ expectations.
