UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — An expert group working in China in connection with an outbreak of a disease caused by a new coronavirus will visit Wuhan on February 22.

The world public was informed by the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adan Gebreyesus.

According to him, the specialists worked with Chinese doctors in Beijing and the provinces of Sichuan and Guangdong.

In turn, the representative of the State Committee on Health Care of China, Mi Feng, told reporters that on February 21, the country for the first time since the outbreak of the epidemic recorded a record rate of convalescent per day – more than 2,000 patients were discharged from PRC clinics.

He also emphasized that on the same day, the number of people recovered in Wuhan, 12 million, for the first time exceeded the number of infected people who were admitted to hospitals per day.

The outbreak of the new coronavirus 2019-nCoV was recorded at the end of December 2019 in the most densely populated city in Central China – Wuhan. WHO has recognized a new global emergency, concluding that it is an epidemic.

Outside of China, infections were detected in 25 countries, including Russia. According to the data on the morning of February 21, the number of deaths in China amounted to 2239 cases, more than 18.3 thousand people recovered, the total number of infected people approached 75.6 thousand.
