Iran: Coronavirus has spread to almost all provinces

US, WASHINGTON (NEWS OBSERVATORY) — Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has today said that the coronavirus has spread to almost all provinces of Iran.

“This disease is widespread. It affects almost all of our provinces and is, in a sense, a global disease that has infected many countries around the world,” Rouhani said in statements quoted by the official Presidency website.

According to the country’s Ministry of Health, a total of 92 people have died from the virus in Iran, with 2,922 infected.

Rouhani said Iran “will overcome the problem in cooperation with the entire Iranian nation and with the help of healthcare professionals as soon as possible”.

The Iranian leader expressed hope that the problem would be resolved with less loss. “We need to work together to address this problem as soon as possible.”

The total death toll from the virus is over 3,000, with more than 89,000 infected.
