Iran describes US sanctions as “economic terrorism”

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called the decision of US President Donald Trump to extend sanctions against Tehran “economic terrorism” against ordinary citizens of the country, he wrote about this on his Twitter.

Earlier, trump said that he ordered “substantially” to expand sanctions against Iran.

“By escalating the US economic war against the Iranians, President Donald Trump ordered the finance minister to“ substantially expand sanctions against the state of Iran. ”This is a recognition of the fact that the US intentionally makes ordinary citizens its target. Economic terrorism is illegal and inhumane,” said Zarif.

On Saturday night, fires occurred at two oil facilities in Saudi Arabia due to drone attacks. The country, which is the largest exporter and one of the three largest oil producers, after the attack reduced production by more than half – by 5.7 million barrels per day from the usual mark of about 9.8 million.

Hussite Yemeni rebels, against whom the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia, are fighting, said oil militants attacked their vehicles with unmanned aerial vehicles. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said there was no evidence of an attack from Yemen, and blamed Iran for it. Iranian Foreign Ministry rejected these allegations.
