Iran unveils its all-new fighter jets

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – Called Kowsar and entirely designed in Iran, this new aircraft is capable of carrying different types of weapons and will be used for short air support operations, writes the Iranian press agency Tasnim.

Iran on Tuesday presented its new fighter plane for its air force, while tensions between Tehran and regional rivals, including Saudi Arabia, worsen, reports the Tasnim news agency.

This aircraft , named Kowsar and entirely designed in Iran, is capable of carrying different types of weapons and will be used for short air support operations, details the media.

Iranian television broadcast live a ceremony in Tehran, where the device demonstrated in the presence of President Hassan Rouhani, on the eve of the National Day of the Defense Industry, says his side Reuters.

Announcing last Sunday the commissioning of the new fighter, Iran’s Defense Minister Amir Hatami stressed that Iran is acting as part of its “active containment strategy”, while recalling that his country had never attacked another.
