Iranian general died by coronavirus

US, WASHINGTON (NEWS OBSERVATORY) — Another victim of the coronavirus COVID-19 was the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps General Nasser Shaabani. He served in the IRGC for over 37 years and was considered one of the most experienced military leaders, according to the Iranian media.

What post Shaabani held is not known exactly. However, journalists clarify that he was previously the deputy head of the Corps’s department in Tehran.

COVID-19 also caused the death of 72-year-old member of the Council on the Expediency of Mohammad Mirmohammadi. The media wrote that on March 1, a senior Iranian official was hospitalized, and on March 2 he died.
