UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — An Iranian plane made an emergency landing at Tehran airport on Saturday, Iran’s semi-official Mehr News Agency said.
The agency added, quoting an official at Imam Khomeini airport, where the plane took off, that the plane was en route from Tehran to Istanbul, but returned due to a technical problem and landed safely at Mehrabad airport without any injuries between the passengers or the crew.
The report did not provide any other details about the technical problem encountered by the plane, which belongs to Iran Ertor.
No picture of the plane, posted on social media, showed any visible damage. Reuters could not independently verify the image.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards accidentally shot down a Ukrainian airliner near Tehran on January 8, killing all 176 of its passengers.
