Iraq air force carries out strikes on ISIS position in Syria

SYRIA (OBSERVATORY) – The Iraqi air force attacked the positions of the Islamic State terrorist group in Syria’s border areas with Iraq, the Iraqi prime minister’s press office said.

“By order of the commander of the armed forces of Iraq, Heydar Al-Abadi, our heroic air forces attacked the positions of the Islamic State near the Iraqi border on Thursday,” the report said.

The Iraqi premier’s press office noted that the presence of IS militants on the border with Iraq posed a danger to the country.
