Iraq protests: Medics say they are being targeted

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY VIDEO) — Iraqi doctors and nurses have been volunteering in Baghdad’s Tahrir Square to ensure wounded protesters have access to medical care.

But they say security forces are targeting and attacking them along with the demonstrators.

The 2018–19 Iraqi protests over deteriorating economic conditions and state corruption started in July 2018 in Baghdad and other major Iraqi cities, mainly in the central and southern provinces.
