UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — Hashd al-Shaabi denounced the Saudi Foreign Minister for blatantly claiming that the Iraqi people’s mobilization force was funded by Doha.
On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Adel al-Jubeir, Saudi Foreign Minister, claimed on Tuesday, September 24 that Qatar had paid millions of dollars to Lebanese Hezbollah and the Hashdah organization, calling for Doha to change a policy that could not according to al-Jubeir continue.
In response to the remarks of the top Saudi diplomat, Mohammed al-Basri, a member of the Hashd reported to Baghdad Today that his organization was a military entity with a budget of its own.
Claiming that the Hashd al-Shaabi do not need help from Qatar or from any other country in the Persian Gulf region, al-Basri described these statements as a blow to the establishment of the Units.
“When did Qatar support the Hashd? As far back as we can remember, Qatar is known to support terrorist groups and plans to harm Iraq,” he said before adding:
“The rise of Iraq and its possession of a military entity such as the Hashd al-Shaabi do not please the Persian Gulf states who follow Washington’s plans and are in touch with the regime of Israel” .
“The countries of the Persian Gulf and Israel want Iraq to be a weak country but with the will of the government and the nation, Iraq is a strong country, thanks also to its military entities and its youth,” concluded al-Basri.
