Israel arrests 23 Palestinians in the West Bank

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — The Israeli army arrested 23 Palestinians in various parts of the West Bank overnight.

“The Palestinians were arrested on suspicion of involvement in popular terrorist activities and have been referred for investigation,” the military said in a statement on Thursday.

Arrests from Palestinian homes are usually carried out after midnight.

According to official statistics issued by the Prisoners Affairs Authority (affiliated to the Palestine Liberation Organization), the number of Palestinian detainees reached about 5,700.
