Israeli army notifies the demolition of 4 Palestinian homes in the West Bank

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — On Friday, the Israeli army notified the demolition of 4 Palestinian homes in the West Bank.

In a statement, the army said it was more dangerous to demolish the house of the family of the captive Mahmoud Atawneh.

He added that Atouna was accused of membership in a cell that carried out a stabbing attack near the settlement bloc “Gush Etzion” in the southern West Bank, on August 8, 2019, which killed an Israeli.

The army also indicated that it was notified of the demolition of the homes of the detainees, Walid Hanache, and weighing councilors.

He stated that they were accused of membership in a cell that planted an explosive device near the “Dolev” settlement in the central West Bank in August 2019, killing a settlement and wounding her father.

The Israeli army indicated that it was notified of the demolition of the house of the prisoner Ahmed Qanaba, whom Israel accuses of membership in a cell that killed an Israeli settler in the northern West Bank in January 2018.

He indicated that he demolished the house of the Qana`ba family in Nablus in April 2018, but that the family had rebuilt their home.

The decisions of the army are based on the emergency law issued during the British mandate for Palestine in 1945.

Palestinian families are allowed to petition against demolition orders to the Israeli Supreme Court, which often supports army decisions.

The army uses house demolitions as a punishment against the families of Palestinians who participate in operations against Israelis.

Palestinians say this is collective punishment and contrary to international law.
