Italy allows evacuation of 100 migrants

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — Italy has allowed the evacuation of 100 irregular migrants from the ship “Marie Junio” and allowed them to enter its territory, after being rescued by the relief organization “Mediterranea” relief.

This came after the approval of Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, Italian Defense Minister Elisabetta Trenta and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Danilo Toninelli to evacuate women, children and the sick from the ship Mary Junio of the Italian relief organization.

The Italian organization rescued on Wednesday morning, about 100 migrants coming from Libya on a rubber boat, including 26 women and 22 children.

Italian Interior Minister Salvini on Wednesday signed a decision to ban the rescue ship.

Italy and Malta refuse to receive the migrants because they do not get enough solidarity from the rest of the European Union on the distribution and reception of more migrants in recent years.
