Italy became Europe’s leader in coronavirus infections

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Italy came first in Europe in the number of coronavirus infected. In addition, it is the only country on the continent where fatalities have been recorded. This was announced by a member of the Executive Committee of the World Health Organization Walter Ricciardi, reports ANSA.

According to him, the number of infections in the country exceeded 50 and all infected were not in the infection zone in China. It is noted that the former are identified in Milan and Turin. It is also reported that 450 people are isolated in the Schiavonia hospital in Padova, among which 300 patients and 150 employees of the institution.

According to journalists, so far in Italy, two people have died from the effects of coronavirus – this is a 78-year-old man who was treated for acute respiratory infections in a suburb of Padua but died of complications, as well as an elderly woman who died at home.
