UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — The total number of cases of coronavirus infection in Italy increased to 79, of which two died and one was discharged after recovery, said the head of the Italian Civil Defense Angelo Borrelli.
Speaking at a press conference following an emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers, he said that cases of infection have been recorded in five regions of Italy.
“In Lombardy, we have the largest number of infected people – 54 people, 17 in Veneto, two in Emilia-Romagna, two in Lazio (around Rome), these are a couple of Chinese tourists, and one in Piedmont,” Borrelli listed.
According to him, 51 people were hospitalized with symptoms, 18 of them are in intensive care units, another 11 people are in conditions of home isolation, because “they have no special symptoms.”
