CHINA (OBSERVATORY) – The J-15 fighter jet, nicknamed “flying shark”, belonging to the Chinese navy and developed by the army, made its first test flight during the military maneuver of the army in the China Sea Southern.
The Chinese army used for the first time its “J-15” combat aircraft in the military exercise in the China Sea. This fighter is developed by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation and the 601 Institute of Aircraft Carriers of the Chinese Navy. It is developed on the model of the Russian aircraft Sukhoi Su-33. It has a more advanced radar system, technology and weaponry.
The pilot of the aircraft was pleased with his first test flight.
According to American experts, the Chinese “flying shark” would have aerodynamic capabilities equivalent to or better than any fighter-bomber […], with the exception of the American F-22 Raptor”.
The Chinese armed forces are engaged in an ambitious modernization project including investments in the use of new equipment such as stealth fighters and aircraft carriers as well as reductions in the number of soldiers.
The Chinese army organized, from 11 to 13 April 2018, military exercises in the waters of the South China Sea.
