King of Saudi Arabia criticized Trump for transferring the embassy

SAUDI ARABIA (OBSERVATORY) –┬áKing of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud criticized the decision of US President Donald Trump to move the embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. He stated this during the welcoming speech at the summit of the League of Arab States (LAS).

The monarch said he did not agree with such a decision of the American leader and specified that East Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine.

After Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and decided to transfer the American embassy there, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stated that he was ready to break all agreements with Israel if the situation around Jerusalem did not change.

The decision of the US President caused a negative reaction also from other states, including the countries of the Middle East.

The Arab League Summit was launched in the Saudi city of Dhahran on April 15 against the background of the situation around the Syrian Arab Republic.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed the participants of the Arab League and declared the readiness of the Russian Federation to develop cooperation in order to ensure regional security.
