Macron and Merkel over the phone discussed the situation Syria

FRANCE (OBSERVATORY) –¬†French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel held a telephone conversation on Thursday, during which they discussed the situation in the world and attacks in Syria, the Elysee Palace said on Thursday.

“They discussed the international situation, their mutual concern over the unacceptable attacks in Syria that occurred on April 7, and the threats that these new violations of the ban on chemical weapons bear,” the French leader said in a communiqu√©.

It is noted that Macron and Merkel “expressed regret over the blocking of the UN Security Council, whose resolutions are not observed.”

“The President of the Republic France and the Federal Chancellor of Germany agreed to remain in close contact on this issue,” reports the Elysee Palace.
