UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro blamed the opposition on Guaido for US sanctions against the country’s oil industry. Maduro called Washington’s henchman a “sewer rat that sells his homeland.”
This week, the US administration announced the imposition of sanctions against a subsidiary trading company Rosneft. Rosneft is one of the largest foreign investors in Venezuela.
Oppositionist Guaido, in turn, promised President Maduro to hold mass protests around the country due to massive power outages that occurred in Venezuela the day before.
