UNITED KINGDOM (OBSERVATORY) – British Prime Minister Theresa May said she would talk to US President Donald Trump later on Tuesday over a suspected chemical attack in Syria.
“I will continue to talk to our allies and partners as she did,” she told reporters in Cambridge, eastern England. “I spoke with President (Emmanuel) Macron this morning and I will talk to President Trump later in the day.”
Mai did not respond directly to a question on whether Britain would participate with the United States if Washington decided to take military action in Syria, but said “we believe those responsible should be held accountable.”
She said she would chair a meeting of the British Security Council on Tuesday.
