UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — German Chancellor Angela Merkel said in her New Year message that she is fighting climate change with all its might to enable future generations to live in peace and prosperity.
“The global warming is real,” Merkel said in a recorded speech to be broadcast on Tuesday evening. It is a threat.”
She added that the global warming and the problems caused by global warming are all man-made.
“So we have to do everything possible to overcome this humanitarian challenge,” she added. It is still possible.”
“At age 65, I will not personally be exposed to all the consequences of climate change that will occur if politicians do not act,” the chancellor said.
“Our children and grandchildren will have to live with the consequences of what we do or refrain from doing today. That is why I use all my strength to make sure that Germany contributes, environmentally, economically and socially, to controlling climate change.
Merkel called on the Germans to think creatively about facing the challenges of global warming.
“To do this, we need the courage to think a new way, the power to leave familiar paths, the desire to try new things, and the resolve to act faster,” Merkel said.
