Mexico confirms first case of coronavirus

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Mexican authorities recorded the country’s first case of infection with a new coronavirus. This was announced on Friday by the Deputy Minister of Health of the Latin American country Hugo Lopez at a press conference, which was broadcast on Twitter.

“Today we already have one confirmed case of coronavirus,” he said. According to the official, the patient’s condition is stable, he transfers the disease caused by the virus “in a mild form.”

According to the Milenio newspaper, this is a 35-year-old Italian citizen who is undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases in Mexico City.

Lopez noted that the Mexican authorities are checking the condition of everyone with whom the sick person could come into contact after infection.
