SYRIA (OBSERVATORY) – The Syrian army agreed with armed groups on the withdrawal of militants from three settlements in the Eastern Kalamun area in the province of Damascus, told RIA a local source in the security services.
“The agreement reached at the points of Ruhaybah, Djirud and Nasriya, involves the surrender of heavy and light weapons, ammunition depots in favor of the Syrian army and the withdrawal of the militants of the Jays al-Islam faction to the city of Jarablus and Nasr in Idlib, – the source said.
Released items are located 50 kilometers northeast of Damascus, Idlib province in the north of the country.
According to him, the agreement was reached with the participation of the Russian Federation and includes the deployment of the Russian military police at the entrances to the liberated cities and the settlement of the legal status of those who want it.
The treaty also provides for the creation of a council to resolve civil issues, including the problems of prisoners.
Earlier, the Russian Center for the reconciliation of warring parties in Syria reported the withdrawal of militants of illegal armed formations from the city of Dumeir. A Syrian military source told RIA that the agreement was also reached with militants in areas south of Damascus, in particular El-Hajr el-Aswad.
