Mossad accused of killing Palestinian engineer in Malaysia

ISRAEL (OBSERVATORY) – A Palestinian engineer was killed on Saturday morning in the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. This was reported by the police of the country.

Later, the identity of the murdered man was established, and he turned out to be a Palestinian engineer Fadi al Batshem, who has lived in Malaysia for 10 years.

The Palestinian media said that the deceased was a relative of one of the high-ranking representatives of the Islamic Jihad group in the Gaza Strip.

Two unidentified men reportedly fired 10 bullets on Fadi al-Batsh, one of which hit the head when he was going to the mosque for morning prayer. The man died on the spot.

The Batsha family, and also the representative of the Islamic Jihad group Khaled al-Batash, said that the offense was organized by the Israeli foreign intelligence service Mossad.

The family also reported that the engineer was going to participate in a scientific conference on energy in Turkey.

Khaled al-Batash urged the Malaysian authorities “to conduct a comprehensive and rapid investigation to prevent the escape of the killers.”

“This is the Israeli Mossad. The Mossad stood for the murder of educated people and intellectuals, because Israel knows that Palestine will be liberated by scientists, “he added.

The Malaysian police reported that they will consider all the variants of the cause of the murder, including terrorism.

Later, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the suspects probably are Europeans, with links to foreign intelligence services, state news agency Bernama.

He added that the victim also had a connection with a foreign intelligence service and was active in pro-Palestinian non-governmental organizations, describing him as an expert in the field of electrical engineering and rocket construction.
