UKRAINE (OBSERVATORY) – The company “Naftogaz of Ukraine” starts the procedure of compulsory collection of debt from the Russian “Gazprom”. This was stated by the chief commercial director of the Ukrainian company Yuriy Vitrenko at a meeting with EU commissioner for competition Margaret Vestager.
“Naftogaz” has to officially begin enforcement of the decision process in Europe and is preparing a new claim with the requirement to compensate for losses caused the failure of arbitration decisions on the part of “Gazprom”, – stated in the message of the press service.
It is noted that Vitrenko told the Commissioner in detail about the decisions taken by the Stockholm Arbitration Court in two commercial disputes between Naftogaz Ukrainy and Gazprom.
“Yuri Vitrenko also informed about the reaction of Gazprom after the announcement of the final decision, which among other things obliges the Russian monopolist to compensate Naftogaz for losses amounting to $ 2.6 billion and to resume gas supplies to Ukraine under new conditions. Earlier, the Minister of Justice of Ukraine Pavel Petrenko stated that Gazprom could not avoid payments on the decision of the Stockholm Arbitration.
