UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – NASA chose the finalists of the contest for the development of housing for astronauts on Mars.
The first place was taken by a team from Arkansas. According to their idea, the robots will gather the necessary resources to build housing directly on Mars, after which the house can be printed using 3D printers.
The authors argue that this technology will increase the area of the building, and with it the number of residents.
The creators of the top five projects shared a prize fund of one hundred thousand dollars. Their work is published on the official website of NASA.
The contest was announced in 2014, 18 teams from all over the world took part in it. Organizers hope that its participants will be able to bring humanity closer to the colonization of new planets.
