Netanyahu says America has the right to defend itself

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday that the United States has the right to defend itself by killing a prominent Iranian military commander, Qassem Soleimani.

“Just as Israel has the right to self-defense, the United States has the same right,” Netanyahu said in a statement issued by his office.

“Qassem Soleimani was responsible for the deaths of American citizens and other innocent people, and he was planning more of these attacks,” he added.

Netanyahu was speaking at Greece airport after he cut short his visit there to return to Israel.

“President (Donald) Trump deserves all praise for moving quickly, forcefully and decisively. Israel stands with the United States in its just struggle for peace, security and self-defense.”
