UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – Two teams of Chinese scientists have concluded that North Korea’s nuclear testing site has collapsed in part, which could mean it is out of service.
If this is true, this explains Pyongyang’s decision last week to close the site under Mount Mantab.
At the time, several countries welcomed North Korea’s decision as a sign of Pyongyang’s commitment to abandon its nuclear program.
Chinese scientists said they reached the result they announced after analyzing data from seismic monitoring centers after Pyongyang’s sixth nuclear test in September.
The findings of the research have received objections from some and others are not.
