Nigerian police recover stolen thieves from parliament

NIGERIA (OBSERVATORY) –┬áNigerian police said on Thursday they had recovered an official thief stolen from parliament when three men stormed the Senate floor and took it in front of MPs.

Police in the capital Abuja said police searches “forced the suspected criminals to leave the sack under a bridge just before the city gate, where a national figure saw him passing by and informed the police.”

A Senate spokesman blamed Wednesday’s incident on a member of parliament who has suspended his membership.

Resolutions adopted by the Senate can not be approved without the scepter symbolizing the authority of the Legislative Council, but the Council resumed its work quickly after theft with an alternative schnitzel.
