UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — North Korean leader Kim Jong-un oversaw the test of a giant multi-barreled rocket launcher on Tuesday, the Korean Central News Agency said on Wednesday.
North Korea launched a new set of short-range missiles on Tuesday, South Korean officials said, hours after Pyongyang signaled its willingness to resume stalled talks on its nuclear disarmament with the United States in late September.
Kim supervised the same test before. The agency quoted him as saying that “its capabilities have been definitively verified in terms of combat operations” and what remains is an “actual operational test”.
Kim ordered the senior officials accompanying him to continue efforts to secure the latest national defense techniques, Kyodo said.
