Number of coronavirus infections in South Korea is increasing

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Infections from coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in South Korea have been reported in 24 people.

Korea’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) says the number of infected people is on the rise. Among the newly infected is a 28-year-old South Korean national.

The infected person was transferred to a hospital in Seoul. Also, 264 of the 1,386 people thought to be in contact with the infected were quarantined.

As a result of coronavirus infection in China, 637 people died and 31,161 others became infected. The National Health Commission of China (NHC) said the number of deaths from coronavirus infection has increased to 637 and 1 in Hong Kong.

In the last 24 hours, 73 people have died and 3,143 new infections have been reported.

Most deaths were recorded in Hubei-69 province, and one person died in Jilin, Henan, Guangdong and Hainan.

The number of infected has increased to 31,161, of whom 4,821 are in serious condition. Another 26,359 people are suspected to be infected and a total of 186,045 are under surveillance. 1,540 people were released from hospitals. The most infected are in Hubei, 22,122.
