UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Iran will begin enriching uranium to 5 percent at its underground nuclear plant at Fordow on Wednesday, the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization said, adding the Islamic Republic had the capacity to enrich uranium to 20 percent if needed.
“Tomorrow we will enrich uranium to 5 percent at Fordow… We now have enough enriched uranium up to 20 percent, but we can produce it if necessary,” ISNA quoted Salehi as saying.
Salehi’s comments came a day before Iran took its fourth step as part of its disengagement from its obligations under the 2015 nuclear deal.
