One UN soldier killed and eight injured in armed clashes in Bangui

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – A blue-helmeted soldier was killed and eight others wounded in clashes between Bangui and the United Nations peacekeepers in the Central African Republic and gunmen in self-styled self-defense forces clashes, told AFP, a security source.

The armed clashes in the BK 45 district of the capital also injured at least 46 civilians, including 44 who were treated by Médecins Sans Frontières, a humanitarian official told AFP.

The remaining two were taken to the children’s hospital in Bangui, a hospital official said.
