Palestinian Education: Israel killed two students and arrested 161 during 2019

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — The Palestinian Ministry of Education documented the killing of two students by the Israeli army and the arrest of 161 during the year 2019.

In a report published on Sunday, on “Israeli violations against the educational process for the year 2019”, the ministry stated that “the occupation killed two Palestinian students, 161 students and 17 teachers and administrative employees were arrested, 175 students and 120 teachers and administrative staff were injured.

The ministry added that “the occupation demolished two schools, and handed over demolition notices and halted construction, confiscation, and closure of a number of other schools.”

She explained that “the total classes lost to students due to violations of the occupation amounted to about 3072 classes.”

It also warned of “Israeli incitement to national curricula, and attempts to force-drive education in Jerusalem and Judaize it.”
