Palestinian wounded in an Israeli raid on Deir al-Balah in central Gaza

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — A Palestinian died of wounds sustained in an Israeli air strike on his home and his brother’s home in the central Gaza Strip last week, bringing the death toll from the same family to nine, the Palestinian family said on Friday.

Ashraf Qudra, a spokesman for the Hamas-run Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip, said in a statement received by AFP that “Mohammed Salem Abu Malous-Al-Sawarka, 40, died of his wounds sustained during the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.” Of his family to target their homes in Deir al-Balah.”

In the wake of the Israeli air raid that destroyed three dawn houses last Friday, Mohammed’s wife and two of his children were killed. His brother Rasmi Abu Malous, his wife and three of his children were also killed.

The death brings to 35 the number of Palestinians killed during the military confrontation that erupted between Israel and Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip after Israel’s assassination of senior Islamic Jihad leader Bahaa Abu al-Atta last week.

The two sides reached a truce in the Gaza Strip brokered by Egypt and the United Nations last Friday, which is an extension of the still fragile truce between Hamas and the Palestinian factions on the one hand and Israel on the other hand was announced about a year ago.
