Pence will lead US efforts to fight coronavirus

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — US Vice President Mike Pence will lead the country’s efforts to fight against coronavirus, President Donald Trump told reporters on Thursday.

“I announce that I am putting Vice President Mike Pence on it. Michael will work with professionals, doctors and everyone else. The team is great,” he said.

Pence himself, in response, noted that the threat of the spread of coronavirus in the United States remains low.

In the United States, 14 cases of coronavirus have been registered so far, another 39 ill Americans have been evacuated from abroad and quarantined.

The Trump administration requested $ 2.5 billion from Congress to fight against coronavirus and develop a vaccine.

Democrats in the Senate criticized Trump for inadequate, in their opinion, requests, and in turn proposed to spend 8.5 billion dollars on these goals.
