The Pentagon said in a statement today that it was also putting additional capabilities under “preparation for deployment,” which means that it would be possible to put them on the alert state faster in the event of a crisis.

The plan includes two additional Patriot batteries and a THAD air defense system.

The Pentagon announced earlier that it plans to deploy “additional capabilities” in Saudi Arabia following the attack on oil facilities belonging to “Aramco” in the Kingdom on September 14.
