UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – The risk of losing one’s life due to a serious injury is almost three times higher in people with blood type O than in other groups.
Japanese researchers at Tokyo University Hospital of Medicine and Dentistry say people with blood group O are more likely to die of a serious injury than people with another group, reports the scientific journal Critical Care.
Thus, according to specialists, the mortality of patients in group O seriously injured reaches 28%. For the other groups, this is 11%.
As the researchers say, this happens because people with blood group O lose more blood because of bleeding problems.
To draw such conclusions, the specialists analyzed the data of 901 people.
