RUSSIA (OBSERVATORY) – The scenario of provocation in the Syrian city of the Duma was drawn up and prepared by the US, said the Russian Federation’s permanent representative to the OPCW, Alexander Shulgin, during his speech at a special meeting of the OPCW executive council on Syria.
After the “fake outfits from the Duma” from the White Helm, the United States, Britain, France and a number of other countries attacked the Syrian authorities and “loud statements” that the Syrian government committed another crime on its land and against its people, to which there are “supposedly certain reliable information”, sounded at a high political level.
“The directors of this performance did not even bother the whole absurdity of the situation: in fact the Eastern Gut was already practically liberated, and in the Duma an agreement was reached with the last groups of militants that they are provided with a safe humanitarian corridor for the departure to Idlib Province of both themselves and members their families, “Shulgin reminded.
Russia has irrefutable evidence that there was no incident in the Duma. Shulgin accused British intelligence agencies of involvement in the provocation, which may have acted “with the participation of their senior allies from Washington” to mislead the world community.
The immediate executors of the provocation were “pseudo-humanitarian NGOs, guarded by opponents of the government of Syria”, among which are “White Helmets”.
Shulgin stressed that “these structures on a fee-based basis cooperate with the governments of the United States, Britain and some other countries.
Russia’s Permanent Representative to the OPCW reported that Russian experts who conducted the verification of reports on the use of chemical weapons in the Duma found participants in video filming that were presented as evidence of a chemical attack.
“None of the witnesses , not one poisoned in the hospital could be found, no remains of chemical munitions were found,” he added.
Shulgin also said that disinformation comes from the US, although earlier the US permanent representative to the United Nations Nikki Haley accused Russia of this.
On April 14, the United States, Britain and France struck missiles at government facilities in Syria, which they believe are used to produce chemical weapons.
