PHILIPPINES (OBSERVATORY) – The Philippine government has named more than 200 elected officials who say they are involved in illegal drugs.
The time for publication of this list is two weeks before local elections.
The list includes the names of many of those who ran for election.
Critics of the government say publicly publishing the list is incompatible with the electoral process and puts those whose names are at risk of attacks.
The campaign launched by Philippine President Rodrigo Duterti to eradicate drugs has killed thousands of people.
