Police raids Sputnik Istanbul office

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — The police are conducting searches at the Sputnik office in Istanbul, the order was issued by the city prosecutor general’s office, they don’t give a reason for the search, head of the agency’s representative Maxim Durnev told RIA.

“Turkish police are conducting searches at the Sputnik office in Istanbul, a warrant has been issued by the prosecutor general of Istanbul. They don’t give a reason for the search,” he said.

On Saturday, aggressively-minded demonstrators burst into the apartments of Sputnik Turkey employees, who are Turkish citizens, chanting threatening slogans.

Journalists were intimidated by physical violence and demanded to stop their professional activities.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, since the evening the journalists have been in the Turkish power structures, and so far they have not been able to establish a connection.
