Pompeo expresses anger at Iran’s continued targeting of US facilities in Iraq

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Secretary of State Mike Pompeo expressed outrage on Monday of continued attacks by Iranian-backed groups on US facilities in Iraq, during a phone call to Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, the State Department said.

Pompeo indicated during the call to the missile attack on Sunday on the American embassy.

“The minister reaffirmed that these attacks demonstrate a deliberate disregard for Iraqi sovereignty and a failure to rein in these dangerous armed groups,” ministry spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus said in a statement.
