UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – Pope Francis expressed his concern over the events in Syria and called on world leaders to ensure the rule of justice and peace in the world and in the region.
“I am deeply concerned about the current international situation,” he said in a statement to the Vatican News website. “Despite the tools available to the international community, there are still difficulties in agreeing to work together for peace in Syria and other parts of the world,” he said.
The Pope urged world leaders to ensure justice and peace in the world and the region.
US, French and British forces targeted a number of sites in Syria on Saturday in a process the West claimed was to punish Damascus for launching an alleged chemical attack in the city of Douma in the countryside of the Syrian capital Damascus a week ago.
